Group History

OUMS is an organization of students interested in interactive multimedia design.

The majority of our members are Visual Communication Interactive Multimedia majors, but all majors are welcome. Our activities include showing and critiquing personal portfolios and work, discussing the latest technologies, and much more.

We are housed within the Scripps School of Visual Communication at Ohio University located in beautiful Athens, Ohio. Whether it be web design, photography, videography or print design if you have an idea you want to share you can contact us for all your creative needs.

OUMS is a place where you can expect to gain knowledge, experience, and great connections that will last a lifetime.

  • Weekly meetings are held in order to keep everyone up-to-date on the latest technology along with getting to know each other a little better.
  • At the meetings you can expect there to be presentations, critiques of past and present work, and also freelancing opportunities from clients.
  • Along with our weekly meetings the group also plans a trip each quarter to visit alumni at some of the country's top design firms and get a taste of what the working world will be like upon graduation.
